Spa Talk: What's New
L.A. Update

The City of Angels is proving to have a voracious appetite for quality spa-going with new contenders joining the pack at a furious rate. Here are a few of the most glamorous entries.

THE FRESHEST SPA on the scene is a destination for whiling away the day—there's enough space and distractions to almost get away with it. Kinara's magic formula is grounded in the pedigree of of its founders, Christine Splichal, wife of food impresario Joachim Splichal, and Olga Lorencin, facialist to the stars (notably the glowing Natascha Henstridge and Christina Applegate). The result is a temple to skincare and hedonistic escape. For starters, the place is drenched in natural light, and that includes the treatment rooms. A color hydrotherapy bath awaits lucky clients as does massage therapist Christopher Warren. As for food, the Splichals celebrate fine dining and think you should too—an easy task in the elegant café reserved for clients (though guests of clients are welcome for a pre- or post-treatment meal—with wine, of course).
