Kinara – "Most Cutting Edge Spa
in Los Angeles"
This
West Hollywood spot is the day spa of the future, a neat package
that touches all the important bases. The design is modern and
airy; skin care services are state-of-the-art; the café serves
only organic food and has an outdoor garden; and the boutique is
stocked with exotic slippers, cozy blankets, one-of-a-kind home
accessories (Blanc D’Ivoire organdy tablecloths and silk
and linen pillows), and hard-to-find beauty products (Ayur-medic
and Fenix). I loved cofounder Olga Lorencin-Northrup’s personalized
facial and the café’s three-course Anti-Aging Menu.
The restaurant is run by Christine Splichal, whose other half heads
up Patina, one of L.A.’s best dining rooms. Etymological
tidbit: Kinara, a Hindi word, means "on the edge."
