Living on the Edge
Are you on the edge?

If you said yes thinking we meant crabby, stressed, and generally unpleasant to be around, please read on. If you said yes thinking we meant immersed in all things cool and hip, please read on. If you said yes knowing we meant enraptured by the new spa-cafe-boutique whose name means "on the edge" in Hindi, then give yourself a gold star -- and read on.

Kinara is the brainchild of Christine Splichal (wife of Joachim of Patina Group fame) and Olga Lorencin. The 4,500-square-foot space offers facials, wraps, and massages, as well as hush-hush services like Botox and lash tinting. Mani/pedis are served up on pillowed thrones, with candles surrounding.

Kinara's double trump cards? Eating and shopping. The Kinara Cadeaux boutique is filled with Belgian-linen nighties and PJs, travel accessories, and the Japanese-cotton throws used in the treatment rooms. Kinara Cafe serves gourmet spa cuisine, courtesy Joachim.

Allow us to break it down: It's one-stop hedonism. Recline on a throne, get a pedicure with reflexology, buy the luxurious shawl that's wrapped around you, sip champagne, and eat tea sandwiches created by the best chef in town.

Living on the edge never felt so good.
