A Spa Is Born
It’s easier than ever to get the star treatment in Tinseltown, where new spas are blooming faster than the bougainvillea.

Christine Splichal, wife and business partner of famed Los Angeles restaurateur Joachim Splichal, has branched out from the Patina Group to open Kinara, one of the city’s hottest spas. Kinara, meaning "on the edge" in Hindi, aims to set trends when it comes to relaxation. The spa offers ten different facials, a milk bath worthy of Cleopatra, and body scrubs using Hawaiian brown sugar. And when the spa owner is married to a chef, expect great food. The on-site café offers delicious, health friendly options like prosciutto-Parmesan omelets and turkey burgers with baked fries.
